The Nigerian senior men’s football team, the Super Eagles, has made a notable advance in the latest FIFA men’s world ranking, climbing three spots to secure the 36th position globally. The updated rankings were released on Thursday, October 24, 2024, on FIFA’s official website.
In the African standings, the Super Eagles improved from sixth to fourth place, trailing only behind Morocco, which ranks 13th in the world, Senegal in 20th, and Egypt in 30th.
At the top of the global rankings, World Cup champions Argentina continue to hold the number one spot, although their lead over second-placed France and third-placed Spain has diminished. England ranks fourth, while Brazil and Belgium remain in fifth and sixth positions, respectively.

Portugal holds the seventh spot, followed by the Netherlands in eighth and Italy in ninth. Germany has climbed to the 11th position, while Colombia rounds out the top ten.
The next FIFA world ranking is scheduled for release on November 28, 2024.
