Popular American singer, Miley Cyrus, has reflected on when she and her ex-husband, Liam Hemsworth, lost their $2.525M four-bedroom Malibu house in the 2018 Woolsey Fire. She recently revealed that the tragic incident happened one month before they got married.
During a Q&A session with her fans, Miley revealed that the fire disaster ended up becoming her biggest blessing because losing everything and being purposeful enough to rebuild it all from scratch was a very fulfilling experience.
According to her, having the privilege to choose every piece she wanted for the rebuild made it a memorable period for her, and she is super grateful for the growth the tragedy triggered.
“When my house burned down, that was the biggest blessing I’ve ever had in my life, actually.
Losing everything and being able to rebuild, and to be able to be purposeful and choose every piece that I’m gonna collect or also just about the people in my life,” she wrote.
Miley further said that the fire incident also burnt a lot of her personal relationships, but the beauty of it is that everything led to her feeling so much gratitude for where the journey led her to.
And I guess for me, when my house burned down, a lot of my relationships also burned down, and that again just led me to such magic and to have so much gratitude,” Miley wrote.
The singer was definitely right about her personal relationships also crashing, as she ended up divorcing Liam Hemsworth in 2020, despite their decade-long romance.
Reflecting on her divorce, Cyrus shared that she has learnt to appreciate the dark times in life, because those moments, if channelled the right way, will only end up leading us to the light.
“I think what I would have told my younger self is to appreciate those darker times because, like I said, they are only leading you into the light,” she added.
Liam and Miley confirmed their separation in August 2019 and wrapped up their divorce in January 2020 after less than a year of marriage.
The former power couple started dating in 2010 after meeting on the set of “The Last Song,” which led to them getting engaged for the first time in May 2012. However, they ended up breaking up in September 2013 before rekindling their romance in 2016, which then led to them to tying the knot in December 2018, before splitting for good 8 months later.
