Former President Muhammadu Buhari has urged President Tinubu not to allow his key economic reforms to be derailed by domestic politics. He recently had his say as BAT’s administration celebrates its second year in office, and Nigerians have been reacting.
Speaking via a press statement by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, Buhari hailed President Tinubu on his mid-term and urged citizens to manage their expectations from the government.
He revealed that reforms would always achieve success gradually, not overnight, and fighting against poverty and inflation cannot be the responsibility of the government alone.
According to him, he can only appeal to Nigerians to keep supporting the APC government throughout their stay in power because any leadership is absolutely useless without the backing of its people.

I am wishing President Tinubu heartfelt congratulations on his two years in office. May you keep leading with wisdom and care,” he said.
PMB further expressed support for the ongoing efforts by the Tinubu government to reduce poverty and inflation, stressing that the private sector and Nigerians must assist in any way they can.
He advised the people to stay optimistic and remain confident about Nigeria’s future.
“Our expectations from our governments should not get heavy,” he added.
