5The Obidient Movement has refuted reports suggesting a fallout between Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi and the party’s Acting National Chairman, Senator Nenadi Usman. The group recently described the speculation as “false and deliberately misleading.”
Speaking via a press statement by the National Coordinator of the Movement, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, Senator Nenadi revealed that Peter Obi remains fully committed to the Labour Party under Usman’s leadership.
According to him, after the Supreme Court’s decision to uphold Senator Nenadi Usman as the Acting National Chairman of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has remained publicly aligned with its leadership since then.
He stated that the many wrong interpretations people have been giving Obi’s actions are completely unfounded.
“Peter Obi has always reiterated that he is a loyal member of the Labour Party under Senator Nenadi Usman.
His support for party candidates is part of his commitment to democratic growth and internal party cohesion. Claims of betrayal are simply propaganda being pushed by opposition elements,” he said.

He insisted that Senator Usman and other party leaders are very much aware of Obi’s involvement in the Anambra campaign and fully support his actions.
Tanko concluded by saying that the current wave of speculation is clearly a tactic used by detractors. Peter Obi remains fully committed to the Labour Party under Usman’s leadership.
“Let’s not forget that Peter Obi is a man of integrity. He doesn’t act outside of the values that brought him to national prominence. His actions in Anambra are aligned with his principles and commitment to party unity.
This is a distraction. Our focus remains on building a stronger, united Labour Party and delivering on the vision of a better Nigeria,” he added.
