The Spokesperson of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, has described Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan’s attempt to return to the National Assembly as a skit-making venture. He recently insisted that the Senate remains focused on serious legislative duties.
Reacting to Natasha’s appearance at the National Assembly on Tuesday during an appearance on Channels TV’s Politics Today, Senator Yemi said that the upper chamber is not in the business of content creation or political theatrics.
According to him, rather than get drawn into the circus Natasha is presently creating, the Senate remains focused on pressing national priorities like constitutional amendments and electoral reforms in preparation for the 2027 general elections.
He stated that actors should continue to act while lawmakers make crucial decisions for the growth of Nigeria.
“We are not actors — we are lawmakers. The National Assembly has more important responsibilities than producing season films,” he said.

Reacting to the recent court ruling involving Senator Natasha’s suspension, Yemi noted that the judgment did not declare the Senate’s action illegal or unconstitutional.
He emphasised that Natasha was even the one who got told to apologise and pay a ₦5 million fine, a decision she has already appealed.
Yemi maintained that enforcement will always lie within judicial procedures, not personal interpretation.
He concluded by urging Nigerians not to be distracted by the ongoing political theatrics, reaffirming the Senate’s commitment to delivering on its mandate.
“It is baffling that someone would appeal a court order and still try to enforce it as if it were final,” he added.
