Veteran Nollywood actress, Moji Afolayan, has come out to open up on the shocking death of her legendary father, Adeyemi Afolayan, a.k.a Ade Love. She recently had her say while marking his 29th death anniversary, and fans have been reacting.

Speaking during an emotional interview, Moji recalled how her dad suddenly fell ill during a family trip to their hometown in Kwara State during the 1996 Christmas season.

According to the actress, her father showed no sign of sickness before the trip, and despite being taken to Ilorin for treatment, Ade Love requested to be moved back to Lagos to see his personal doctor.

Moji stated that his condition eventually worsened, and he finally passed away on December 30, 1996.

“My father wasn’t sick before we left Lagos. We had gone to our hometown for Christmas, and one of his father’s co-wives was also celebrating an event. It was there that he suddenly became ill.

He was taken from Ilorin to Lagos. While leaving, he asked his youngest wife to follow him, but she said she wanted to stay back and take care of things. Then he said, ‘What if we don’t meet again?’ We didn’t understand what he meant at the time,” she said.

The moviestar further described her late father as a kind and selfless man who never stopped caring for others.

Moji concluded by saying that if she had another opportunity to live life from scratch, she’d love for Ade Love to tell her dad all over again.

“I pray that I come through him in my next life. He was good and caring to the core,” she added.
