Lagos State has recorded 11,127 emergency incidents and received over 15 million emergency calls within 11 months, highlighting the scale of public safety demands across the state.
Titansloaded reports that the figures were disclosed by the General Manager of the Lagos State Command and Control Centre (LSCCC), Mr. Femi Giwa, during a press briefing at the agency’s office in Ikeja, as part of a review of its operations for the outgoing year.
Giwa explained that the LSCCC is the central agency responsible for coordinating emergency and disaster response across Lagos, ensuring the efficient deployment, tracking, and demobilisation of resources during incidents.
According to the breakdown, medical emergencies accounted for the highest number of incidents, with 2,192 cases recorded between January and November. Road accidents, including broken-down vehicles and fallen containers, followed closely with 2,188 incidents.

Fire-related emergencies, covering fire outbreaks and vehicle fires, were recorded 1,922 times within the same period. Civil disturbances such as fights and riots accounted for 732 cases, while robbery incidents stood at 410.
The centre also recorded 334 cases involving PHCN poles, sparks, and pipeline vandalism. In addition, 57 building collapses, 323 violent attacks against persons, and 40 domestic violence cases were documented statewide.
Analysis by local government areas showed that Alimosho LGA recorded the highest number of incidents with 1,507 cases, followed by Eti-Osa with 1,283, and Ikeja with 1,169 incidents.
Other high-incidence areas included Oshodi, Kosofe, Ikorodu, Surulere, and Lagos Island, while Ajeromi-Ifelodun recorded the lowest figure with 146 incidents.
As the festive season approaches, Giwa urged residents to remain vigilant and report emergencies or suspicious activities via the emergency toll-free line 767/112, stressing that prompt reporting saves lives.
