The National Security Adviser, NSA, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, has said that the Federal Government and security services in Nigeria have fixed most of the multi-faceted security problems inherited by the President Bola Tinubu government.
Speaking at the APC National Summit to mark two years of the Tinubu administration, the NSA revealed that the current administration inherited 5 destructive crises across Nigeria.
He stated that major crimes like mass killings, wanton destruction, mass abductions and terrorist attacks on government installations have been eradicated via a combined security effort.
According to him, the era of terrorists doing whatever they want is long gone, and Nigeria will not be witnessing atrocities like the attack on the Abuja-Kaduna train, Kuje Prison, or the disaster in the church in Owo anytime soon.
“For us to appreciate where we are today, it’s important to reflect on where we were before the coming of this administration on May 29, 2023,” he said.

He explained that before President Tinubu assumed power, more than 35,000 and 12,000 persons were affected by Boko Haram and banditry crises, respectively, while millions of Nigerians were rendered homeless in the affected areas.
He, however, revealed that more than 13,543 Boko Haram elements have been neutralised in the past 2 years, while more than 11,000 weapons have been recovered and eradicated since then.
Ribadu announced that 124,408 Boko Haram fighters and their families have also surrendered to the army since 2023. He shared that despite a few expected drawbacks here and there, work is currently ongoing in the Tumbuktu Triangle, Tumbu islands, to restore law and order in the region.
