Former Governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi, has said that he is not afraid of visiting any part of the country. This is coming after Governor Monday Okpebholo reportedly told Obi to seek clearance before visiting Edo state.
Reacting in Onitsha during the presentation of a ₦50 million cheque to his alma mater, Christ the King College (CKC), in support of infrastructural development, Obi said that as long as the purpose of his visit is to better the lives of Nigerians, he’ll fear no one.
According to him, contributing to nation-building via education, health, and poverty alleviation remains his major priority, and no threat will make him abandon his plans for the people.
“I am not afraid of visiting any state in Nigeria, particularly when the purpose is to support causes that contribute to nation-building, such as education, health, and poverty alleviation,” he said.

He further noted that seeing his recent visit to Benin get politicized was very disappointing, clarifying that he only visited Edo State to support the healthcare development happening there.
Obi concluded by saying that if Nigerians enjoy quality service from qualified doctors and nurses, they’ll be guaranteed healthy lives.
“I went to Benin to invest in a better life for the people. If they have good doctors and nurses, life will be better for them.
What I expect the governor to do is to complement efforts aimed at improving society,” he added.
