Nollywood actress Belinda Effah has left the Nigerian movie industry. She recently revealed that he has transitioned from being an actress to serving in the U.S. Navy.
Speaking via her Instagram page, Belinda, who now goes by the name Grace Charis Bassey, announced that she has officially completed her U.S. Navy boot camp and is now a citizen of the United States.
Posting a photo of herself in her Navy uniform, Belinda expressed her heartfelt appreciation to God, her family, and her supporters, admitting that the journey to her latest destination was tough and rough.
According to her, Nigeria raised her, the United States of America challenged her, but she is still standing with her head held high, stronger and more determined than ever.
Confirming that she decided to become a Navy officer in honour of her late dad, Naval CDR Asido Bassey Effah, she thanked everyone who has ever believed in her and her many dreams.
“Past week, I graduated from U.S. Navy boot camp as a Sailor and took the oath as a citizen of the United States. Nigeria raised me. America challenged me. I stand today stronger and more determined than ever. Thank you to everyone who believed in me. This is just the beginning. In Honor of my Late Father – Naval CDR Asido Bassey Effah,” she wrote.
Recall that Belinda recently confirmed that her name change to Grace happened after a spiritual awakening during which she felt God gave her the new name.
Grace acknowledged that the name change was part of a rebranding process aimed at aligning her with a greater calling.
“Belinda literally means ‘beautiful serpent. God changed my name to Grace after a divine encounter,” she added.
