The Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, has said that his resignation from President Bola Tinubu’s cabinet is not an admission of guilt. He recently revealed that it was a personal choice to resign from his role after the sustained campaign of falsehood and malicious attacks against his personal by his detractors.
In a press statement signed in Abuja, Nnaji shared that the politically motivated attacks waged against him across print, electronic and social media platforms caused him a lot of personal distress, hence his decision to tender his resignation letter.
According to him, after 50 years of hard work and service to humanity, it became hard for him to allow the attacks to cast a shadow over the noble objectives of Tinubu’s government.
“My decision to step aside is therefore a personal choice, not an admission of guilt,” he said.

Nnaji further expressed optimism that justice will vindicate him in the end.
He concluded by saying that he’ll trust the integrity of the judicial proceedings to declare his innocence eventually.
“It is a principled decision to respect the sanctity of due process and to preserve the integrity of the judicial proceedings currently before the court,” he said.
