Google is reportedly developing a privacy-focused feature called “Shielded Email” to help users combat spam and protect their primary email addresses. This innovative tool, similar to Apple’s iCloud “Hide My Email,” has been discovered in Google Autofill settings, according to Android Authority.

The Shielded Email feature allows users to generate random email aliases when signing up for websites or email lists, providing a layer of anonymity. This approach minimizes spam and shields users from potential privacy breaches caused by sharing their main email addresses on various platforms.

In an era of rampant spam messages and data privacy issues, Shielded Email offers a simple yet effective solution. Users can receive, respond to emails, and register for services without revealing their primary email, ensuring a cleaner and more secure inbox.

Although Google has not officially launched the feature, its appearance in Autofill settings indicates that it is actively being tested as part of the company’s broader efforts to enhance user privacy and security.
