A fire incident broke out on a section of the Lagos Blue Line track near Eko Bridge on Lagos Island on Saturday. The blaze was reported around 4:12 p.m., according to the Chief Press Secretary to the Lagos State Governor, Gboyega Akosile.
Taking to his social media platform, Akosile reassured the public that safety and emergency response teams had promptly been dispatched to the location to extinguish the flames and ensure the area’s safety.
“Residents in the vicinity can go about their business peacefully as the situation is under control,” Akosile posted. He added that further updates regarding the operations of the Blue Line train service would be provided by the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA) through their official handle @Lamataonline.
