5Former APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje has vowed to ensure the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, doesn’t remain the same while he is board chairman. He recently pledged to commit to the role fully, and Nigerians have been reacting.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony in Abuja, Ganduje said he’ll do everything possible to take the ministry to new heights.
According to him, he and his fellow board members will carefully study the FAAN Act to ascertain the job expected of them, while also noting the set boundaries they are not allowed to cross.
Ganduje, however, stated that mediocrity will never be used to describe his tenure as FAAN board chairman because all hands will be on deck to ensure the aviation sector thrives.
“As a board, we will assist you in moving this ministry to the next level. There is no doubt we will study the Act of FAAN in order to see our boundary, so that we do not exceed our boundary.
I know this is a common problem between the boards and the executive management and the ministry.
So we are fully conscious of this. Therefore, the board members and I will study the Act so that we do not go out of bounds, we do not overshoot. But at the same time, we do not exhibit mediocrity by not doing what we are expected to do,” he said.

He further noted that even though the presence of so many stakeholder institutions has constantly hampered effective service delivery in the sector, change can be expected with him in charge.
Ganduje concluded by saying that Nigeria’s aviation services must be of global standards because our dear nation is the giant of Africa.
“I assure you, in conjunction with the executive management, we will ensure service delivery because that is the whole essence of FAAN.
And this service delivery is becoming more and more complicated because there are so many stakeholder institutions, both at the national level and the international level.
And we must be conscious of Nigeria as a country that is a leading country in Africa. Therefore, we must exhibit our services to the best international standards,” he added.
