Veteran Nollywood actress, Hilda Dokubo, has reacted to the wave of defections currently happening in Nigeria’s political scene. Recall that several opposition lawmakers have been dumping their parties for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), and the shift is coming amid internal issues plaguing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), the Labour Party (LP), and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP).
Among those who have decamped are six members of the House of Representatives from Delta State and two from Enugu State, including a major defection involving former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, who recently left the PDP to join the APC.
Reacting to the political instability, the present Rivers State chairman of the Labour Party, Hilda Dokubo, simply disclosed that those defecting are only abandoning their parties because they clearly lack any moral principles guiding them.

“They don’t have the ideology, so that’s what they are doing.,” she said.
The movie star further confirmed that she doesn’t intend to leave the Labour Party anytime soon despite the current trend of political realignment.
“I am not leaving the Labour Party because I joined it based on ideology,” she added.
