Popular media personality Ebuka Obi-Uchendu has shared some key milestones from the BBNaija show’s journey over the years. Recall that the ex-housemate and TV presenter is set to return as host for the 2025 edition.

After MultiChoice Nigeria officially announced that the highly anticipated 10th season of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija) will premiere on July 26, 2025, with a double launch scheduled for July 26 and 27, Ebuka bragged about the show giving out N637 million in prize money thus far.

“Big Brother Naija has featured 197 housemates across its nine seasons.

The show has aired for 709 days in total, with a combined prize pool of N637 million awarded to winners so far,” he said.

Also speaking at a recent press briefing, Executive Head, General Entertainment, MultiChoice Group, Busola Tejumola, revealed that this year’s winner will walk away with a record-breaking grand prize of N150 million, the highest cash reward in the show’s history since its inception in 2006.

She stated that BBNaija has grown beyond being a TV show, stressing that it is now a breathing cultural force.

“Today we are not just announcing another season, we are celebrating a legacy.

BBNaija has become more than just a television show; it is a living, breathing cultural force. It has given voice to a new generation of talent, creatives, entertainers, and the influencer community, and it has refined what homegrown entertainment can achieve when it is done at scale with intention and ambition.

Today we are not just announcing another season, we are celebrating a legacy. From the very first time we introduced Big Brother Naija in 2017, we had an inkling that we had something special. What we couldn’t fully imagine then is how deeply the show would resonate not only in Nigeria but across Africa and in the global diaspora, where our stories continue to connect people to home,” she added.

With a 2-night opening live show for the tenth season of BBNaija, the season is set to build upon the legacy of its past editions, with fans expecting a more dynamic and entertaining experience.
