The federal case against Sean “Diddy” Combs has been tagged the most expensive prostitution trial in American history by legal experts. Defence attorney and former prosecutor Neama Rahmani recently revealed that massive resources have gone into the case.
According to her, if prosecutors failed to secure a racketeering conviction, it was always going to lead to a massive financial blow to the government.
“This case was always going to hinge on racketeering. If the government doesn’t get a RICO conviction, this will be a huge loss and the most expensive prostitution trial in American history,” she said.

The prediction was true in the end. On the 3rd day of deliberations, jurors acquitted Diddy of two federal sex-trafficking charges and a racketeering charge, sparing the music mogul a mandatory minimum of 15 years and potential life behind bars.
However, the rapper was found guilty on two counts of transporting individuals to engage in prostitution, charges that still carry up to 10 years each.
All through the trial, prosecutors laid out graphic details of Diddy’s alleged sexual escapades, shedding light on his so-called “freak-offs” — lavish gatherings involving sex workers and marathon encounters that his accusers claimed were forced.
Neama further noted that the defence presenting text messages that suggested many of the participants were willing made it tough to prove sex trafficking.
“Consent is a defense.
What a tremendous loss for the prosecution. And a huge win for the defense,” she added.
