Former Big Brother Naija housemate Adekunle Olopade has reacted after several intimate scenes on the show sparked public outrage. He recently argued that Nigerians do not have the right to insult any housemate who decides to get intimate in the house.
In a post he shared on X, Adekunle revealed that because the reality stars are consenting adults, they owe no one any explanation for what they do with their bodies on the show.
According to him, the housemates are doing nothing wrong by acting on their attraction to one another, especially when the show they are participating in is rated 18.
He warned BBNaija fans against image shaming and name-calling, noting that such behaviour undermines the essence of reality TV.
“The only sin big brother housemates actually commit is coming on the show to entertain you guys. I can’t believe the things I’m seeing on the TL. LOL.
So, because consenting adults on a RATED 18 show who are clearly attracted to each other get intimate, that’s why you guys are coming up with all these think pieces? The amount of hypocrisy I’ve witnessed from you guys this week alone is very laughable,” he wrote.

Pointing out the hypocrisy of some critics who engage in similar behaviour privately, he stressed that Nigerians should stop acting like they are saints.
He concluded by urging the critics to go to church and ask for forgiveness because they have all sinned.
“What do you guys really think happens when adults are left together in a confined space? Please let’s be real.
Not one single person in that house has done anything wrong because they’re attracted to someone else. This image shaming, reputation damaging, name calling and things you guys are on, is exactly what is killing the show.
The gag in all of this is, the people who are pointing fingers and quick to accusations actually do much worse, with multiple people infact, but because it’s not on national tv you think you’re all saints? You all better go to church and ask for forgiveness,” he added.
