The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, has refuted claims that he intends to join the PDP soon. He recently said that the PDP is dead and the APC is gearing up for a decisive victory in the 2027 elections.
Responding to former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido, who previously said that the APC would collapse and former PDP members like Ganduje would return, Abdullahi immediately dismissed the claim as baseless and irrational.
According to a press statement via his Press Secretary, Edwin Olofu, there’s a higher chance of Sule Lamido joining the APC than him rejoining the PDP in the near future.

“Ganduje predicted that the PDP will go into extinction by the end of 2025, based on the internal squabbles in the party.
It is evident to any discerning observer that under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the APC continues to gain momentum, with prominent political figures across the country defecting to the party in large numbers.
With such overwhelming national support, the APC remains focused on consolidating its achievements and preparing for a resounding victory in the 2027 general elections.
In fact we will soon receive Sule Lamido because very soon he won’t have where to go, the PDP is dead,” it read.
Expressing pride in his role as APC leader, Ganduje reiterated his commitment to boosting internal democracy and advancing good governance in the party.
He maintained that he has no logical reason to leave the ruling party for what is clearly a failing opposition, so there is absolutely no truth to Sule’s statement.
He then urged Lamido to focus on fixing the PDP’s internal issues rather than spreading claims with no proof.
