The Lagos State Command of the Peace Corps of Nigeria has joined members of the Corps nationwide in celebrating the 28th Anniversary of the organisation, describing the milestone as a testament to nearly three decades of dedicated service to peace, youth development, and nation-building.
In a goodwill message issued on behalf of the Executive Council, officers, men, and volunteers of the Lagos State Command, the State Commandant, Amb. Patriot Badmus Akeem Abayomi, congratulated the National Commandant and the entire Peace Corps of Nigeria family on the anniversary celebration.
The 28th anniversary is themed “Peace Corps @28: A Major Stakeholder in Addressing Contemporary Security Challenges: Options and Strategies in Nigeria,” reflecting the organisation’s continued commitment to supporting national peace, security, and community development.
The Lagos Command commended the visionary leadership of the National Commandant, noting that his dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment have continued to strengthen the Corps and position it as a strategic partner in promoting peace, patriotism, discipline, and national development.
The statement further highlighted the Corps’ achievements over the past 28 years, emphasizing its contributions to youth empowerment, peace building, volunteerism, community service, and the promotion of patriotic values across Nigeria.
As part of the celebration, the Lagos State Command prayed for greater wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for the National Commandant while expressing optimism for continued unity, progress, and greater accomplishments for the Peace Corps of Nigeria.
The Command reaffirmed its commitment to the Corps’ core values of discipline, patriotic service, and nation-building, while pledging continued support for initiatives that foster peace and sustainable national development.
