Springfield Private School, located in Ekoro, Abule Egba, Lagos, has commenced its much-anticipated Springfield Private School Week, a week-long celebration designed to promote holistic education through engaging, creative, and value-driven activities that extend learning beyond the traditional classroom.
Titansloaded reports that the annual event, which began on Monday, July 6, 2026, brings together learners, teachers, parents, and members of the school community in a series of carefully planned educational and recreational programmes aimed at nurturing the intellectual, emotional, social, and cultural development of every child.
The week-long celebration opened with Pyjamas Day, a unique activity that transformed the school into a relaxed and exciting learning environment. Pupils arrived in their favourite pyjamas and participated in a variety of engaging activities, including storytelling sessions, educational games, bonding exercises, and supervised nap sessions.
Rather than being an ordinary dress-up event, the activities were intentionally designed to encourage social interaction, improve emotional well-being, strengthen communication skills, and build learners’ confidence in a fun and supportive atmosphere.
The successful organisation of the event has been attributed to the commitment of the Head Teacher, Mr. Adebayo Ayeni, alongside the dedicated teaching and non-teaching staff of Springfield Private School, whose efforts ensured that every activity reflected the institution’s commitment to quality education.
Speaking on the significance of the programme, the Director of Springfield Private School and Bosede Idehen International Academy, Mrs. Idehen Ovabor, described the school week as an important aspect of the institution’s educational philosophy, noting that true learning goes beyond academic instruction.
According to her, Springfield Private School is committed to raising confident, disciplined, innovative, and morally responsible learners equipped with the knowledge and life skills required to excel in an ever-changing world.
“Learning goes beyond the four walls of the classroom. At Springfield Private School and Bosede Idehen International Academy, we believe education is more than reading and writing. We are raising problem solvers, critical thinkers, and future leaders. We build confidence instead of fear, teach our learners to stand for what is right rather than bully others, and instil godly values, integrity, respect, and good character in every child,” she said.
The celebration continued on the second day with Language and Culture Day, an event that showcased the school’s commitment to cultural diversity and multilingual education.
Learners proudly appeared in colourful traditional attires representing different ethnic backgrounds, creating an atmosphere of unity, cultural appreciation, and national pride.
As an international school, Springfield Private School continues to distinguish itself through its multilingual curriculum, where learners are exposed to four international languages( alongside Yoruba, one of Nigeria’s indigenous languages. The initiative is aimed at preparing pupils to compete globally while remaining deeply connected to their cultural heritage.
Guests who attended the activities commended the school for providing a learning environment that combines academic excellence with creativity, cultural awareness, leadership development, and moral values.
With more activities scheduled throughout the week, Springfield Private School Week continues to reinforce the institution’s reputation as one of the leading private schools in Alimosho, committed to producing confident, responsible, and globally competitive learners through innovative and holistic education.
