Renowned boxer Anthony Joshua has been discharged from the hospital following a road incident that occurred on December 29, 2025, involving two young men, Lateef Ayodele and Cina Gami, whose lives were sadly lost in the unfortunate occurrence.
Titansloaded reports that the Lagos and Ogun State governments have expressed deep sympathy with the affected families, describing the incident as painful and distressing. The governments reaffirmed their commitment to standing with the families and offering support during this challenging period.
According to an official statement, Anthony Joshua was discharged from Lagoon Hospital, Ikoyi, after doctors confirmed he was clinically stable and fit to continue his recovery from home. Sources disclosed that the boxer remains emotionally affected by the incident, despite his improving medical condition.
The statement further noted that Joshua, accompanied by his mother, visited a funeral home in Lagos to pay final respects to the departed individuals as preparations were concluded for their repatriation later the same day. The visit was described as quiet and reflective.
Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun appreciated the outpouring of public concern, prayers, and goodwill messages received since the incident. They thanked Nigerians for their compassion and solidarity.
The governors also conveyed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his fatherly support and close involvement throughout the process, noting that his attention brought reassurance to all concerned parties.
Commendation was also extended to the doctors and medical personnel at Lagoon Hospital, Ikoyi, for their professionalism, dedication, and quality of care provided to Joshua and others who sustained injuries during the incident.
