In a tragic incident along the Funtua-Gusau road in Katsina State, 15 people lost their lives, and 13 others sustained injuries in a fatal accident on Saturday.

The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Katsina, Mr. Aliyu Ma’aji, confirmed the crash in a statement released by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Shamsudeen Babajo.

The accident involved a Toyota Hiace bus and a Dangote truck, with the collision reportedly caused by a tyre burst from the Toyota bus, resulting in the driver losing control and colliding head-on with the truck.

The FRSC rescue team from the Funtua Unit Command transported the injured to Funtua General Hospital, where they are receiving treatment for varying degrees of injuries.
